Beginning August, 2023, Empire Life is making some changes for users of the MyEmpire customer portal. Clients will be prompted to set up multi-factor authentication when they sign into or register, for their MyEmpire customer portal.

These changes will begin to roll out to small groups of MyEmpire customers starting in August. 

What is multi-factor authentication?

Multi-factor authentication is a security enhancement that requires the user to sign into their account using their password and then input a security code which has been received on their phone or via email to complete the login process. It's a more secure way to log in versus using only a password. 

What does the customer need to do?

Starting in August and over the next few months, customers who log in to the MyEmpire client portal will be prompted to set up and register for this simple MFA process. See below for the email being sent to clients.

Empire Life customers will be required to register a phone number in order to receive a security code. A mobile phone number is preferred, but users without a mobile phone can still register a land line number.

Once a phone number has been registered, users will also have the option to use their MyEmpire registered email address for receiving security codes in the event they do not have access to the registered phone number.

Please don't share your login

In September, we will implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) on our advisor platforms. If your team is currently sharing logins, please ask every team member to register for an individual account. This way, you ensure that your team members retain their access to our platforms. Feel free to forward this email to any colleagues that need to create their personal account.
