What's new in Health and Dental in 2019

Plan Changes for Flexcare®

We've introduced a number of enhancements to provide even greater value and more choice for your clients.

  • Dietitian has been added to the practitioner list.
  • Clinical counsellor is now included as a psychologist benefit.
  • Psychology benefit will no longer require a doctor’s referral.
  • Removed Psychology benefits exclusions on smoking cessation, academic and/or scholastic testing, career counselling, clinical summaries and/or updates.
  • Lifeline® (previously only available to the applicant and co-applicant) has been expanded to include extended family (parents, grandparents, in-laws).

There is an overall rate increase of 2% for all plans this year (including Stand-Alone and Add-Ons). Changes are effective on May 1st, 2019 (June 1st, 2019 in Quebec).

NOTE: Rates will be updated in Diamondview on April 1st (by May 17th in Quebec).

Changes for The Association Health & Dental Plan

All Plans with Drug Coverage

  • Dietitian has been added to paramedical services.

Base and Bronze Drug Plans

  • Now includes birth control coverage

There is an overall rate increase of 4.5% for all plans this year. Changes are effective on May 1st, 2019.
